These pairs of stainless steel R&R sleeves are extremely easy to install. The sleeves thread onto the tie rod making it almost impossible to break or bend. Manufactured from high quality stainless steel. Available in Polished Stainless and also Black E-Coated. These are made with a 24mm hex for easy service, so no need for the standard locking nut, it is removed and use the hex on the sleeve to lock against the tie rod end. These tie rod sleeves must be loosened to make toe adjustments when performing an alignment. Lesser quality sleeves made from cheap steel can rust and be very difficult to move.

Will these sleeves will fit your vehicle?

  • These sleeves are a total length of: 145mm
  • Outside Diameter: 30mm
  • Inside max diameter: 16mm
  • Thread size and pitch M14 *  1.5 Thread.

Suits up to 15mm rod perfectly. (Note: They will not fit over 15.6mm) so check the thickest section of the tie rods you have before ordering as they all vary.

I recommend when running sleeves, to apply a small amount of sikaflex after a wheel alignment, into the small clearance gap to prevent water, moisture, dirt, etc from entering.

I also recommend running the steering rack clamp in conjunction with sleeves if your vehicle is an:

  • Izuzu D-Max/Mux (Pre 2020 models.) New model is different mount system.
  • Holden RC/RG Colorado
  • Holden Rodeo

Due to the fact these models are known for snapping steering racks off-road. So best to increase the strength of the rack and the tie rods at the same time.

These sleeves are recommended for off-road use only. However, they have been tested and ran both on and off road. They are extremely strong, and very safe. They are not ADR approved. So Buyers are to install or have installed correctly and run at own risk.

Trying to decide which style?

Bolted vs solid

Solid sleeves

-These will fit a larger variety of different tie rods.
By having the larger clearance hole of 16mm.
-Fit and forget. Can get a wheel alignment with them on.
-No way for them to come loose.
(But you do need to get a wheel alignment after removing the tie rod end to fit.)

Bolted sleeves

-They are limited to a few specific tie rod sizes.(listed in descriptions)
-No need for a wheel alignment. Just bolt on when going offroading.
-They will need to be removed before a wheel alignment.
-Having many bolts on a hight movement area does have the potential to come loose, so these are for offroad use only to prevent any chance of comming loose and falling of and causing injuries or damage.

So pretty much comes down to 2 things.

1.The Tie rod diameter its to be fitted to.
2.Preference for a  set and forget style. And pay for a wheel alignment.
Or
Preference for a bolt on as needed style. With no need for a wheel alignment.

Additional information

A standard tie Rod will bend with less then 1T pressure applied, which is easily achieved when the vehicle shifts weight from side to side/ side wall load and impacts, bigger heavier wheel loads on tie rods at droop ect.
Both style sleeves have been tested to withstand over 5-6t of direct pressure before any signs of bending, and over 10t without snapping.
