These custom designed R&R Stainless steel tie rod sleeves are unique and one of a kind.

They provide all the added strength of quality 304 grade stainless steel. Not only do they provide the strength, they also provide very easy fitment.

  • No need to remove or adjust anything.
  • Save money with no need for a wheel alignment.

The 2 piece design allows the sleeve to be bolted together around the tie rod with stainless steel bolts which are all supplied as part of the package. (These are a perfect fit to suit between 14.5mm 15.5mm tie rods). If you have the narrow 14mm tie rods, pending the design, you may need to fill the clearance with sikaflex, or even 1 wrap of tape around the tie rod to fill the clearance gap for clamping pressure. (You will need to confirm that the tie rod sizes you have are between 14mm and 15.6mm as no refunds will be given if you have size above the max limit 15.6mm)

Fitting these sleeves only takes 6 minutes a side.

I recommend when running these sleeves to apply some thread locker/lock tight, to ensure bolts don't vibrate undone over corrugated roads and out on the tracks.

I also recommend running the steering rack clamp in conjunction with sleeves if your vehicle is an:

  • Izuzu D-Max/Mux
  • Holden RC/RG Colorado
  • Holden Rodeo

Due to the fact these models are known for snapping steering racks off-road. So best to increase the strength of the rack and the tie rod at the same time.

These sleeves are recommended for off-road use only. However, they have been tested and ran both on and off road. They are extremely strong, and very safe. They are not ADR approved. So Buyers are to install or have installed correctly and run at own risk.

 Trying to decide which style?

Bolted vs solid

Solid sleeves

-These will fit a larger variety of different tie rods.
By having the larger clearance hole of 16mm.
-Fit and forget. Can get a wheel alignment with them on.
-No way for them to come loose.
(But you do need to get a wheel alignment after removing the tie rod end to fit.)

Bolted sleeves

-They are limited to a few specific tie rod sizes.(listed in descriptions)
-No need for a wheel alignment. Just bolt on when going offroading.
-They will need to be removed before a wheel alignment.
-Having many bolts on a hight movement area does have the potential to come loose, so these are for offroad use only to prevent any chance of comming loose and falling of and causing injuries or damage.

So pretty much comes down to 2 things.

1.The Tie rod diameter its to be fitted to.
2.Preference for a  set and forget style. And pay for a wheel alignment.
Or
Preference for a bolt on as needed style. With no need for a wheel alignment.

Additional information

A standard tie Rod will bend with less then 1T pressure applied, which is easily achieved when the vehicle shifts weight from side to side/ side wall load and impacts, bigger heavier wheel loads on tie rods at droop ect.
Both style sleeves have been tested to withstand over 5-6t of direct pressure before any signs of bending, and over 10t without snapping.
